Dr. Lu is very passionate about helping people heal and nourish their lives. His ability comes not only from his formal medical training, but also from his family’s long lineage of medical doctors and healers. The Lu family was ‘Yu Yi or ‘doctors to the royalty’, in the Manchurian Qing dynasty which ruled China from the mid-1600’s to the early 1900’s. Their primary responsibility entailed providing the royal circle with medical treatments, healing cuisine and herbal medicine emphasizing wellness and longevity. Their herbal formulas continue to be used over five hundred years later. Dr. Lu built upon his family’s tradition and honed his diagnostic skills, herbal pharmacology knowledge and protocol design by training with healing monks in Buddhist monasteries. He considers himself a life-long student of Traditional Chinese Medicine and Eastern healing.

Dr. Lu’s vision is one that weaves the threads of ancient healing practices and methods into modern day societies. Dr. Lu’s Nourishing Life, LLC and Dr. Lu’s Healing Cuisine, LLC were created to provide his clients a path to wellness, utilizing treatments grounded in Traditional Chinese Medicine as well as Buddhist and Taoist healing, medicinal herbs, cooking with seasonal whole foods and a balanced way of living, one that is in harmony with the organic rhythm of nature. Qi Bo, the teacher of the Yellow Emperor Huang Di, to whom is attributed the earliest known Chinese medical writing, believed that people who followed the way of nature are the people who understood the principle of Balance, of Yin and Yang energy, as represented by the transformation of the energies in the universe. To apply such principles, these people formulated practices such as exercise and combining stretching, massaging, and breathing to optimize energy flow. They used meditation to help maintain harmony with nature, ate a balanced diet at regular times, arose and retired at regular hours, avoided over-stressing their bodies and minds, and refrained from overindulgence of all kinds.
